About the Skate Plaza
The Victoria Park Skate Plaza has two bowls: a main bowl running 4 to 10 feet deep with pool coping, and a smaller connected bowl with a spine transfer gap between them — serious terrain for experienced riders. A mini ramp (5 feet with extensions) and quarter pipes round out the transition section.
The street section is equally comprehensive: hubba ledges, stair sets including an 8-stair rail, flat bars, ledges, manual pads, gaps, and quarter pipes. A BMX jump box is also on site. The combination of transition and street terrain at this scale is rare for a free public facility in New Zealand, and Victoria Park’s central location makes it easily accessible from the city.
Beginners can use the smaller features and the mini ramp while learning; the deeper bowls and the 8-stair section are for more advanced skaters. The adjacent basketball court provides additional activity for groups.
What Visitors Say
“One of the best free skateparks I’ve been to — the bowl with pool coping is genuinely good. The street section has something for every level.” — Google review
