Residential Builders for Auckland Homes

Mersey Construction is a locally owned Auckland building company led by Thomas Rea. We help homeowners, renovators and property developers with everything from bathroom upgrades and decks to home extensions and new builds. Our team has strong ties to Rodney and West Auckland, and we work across the wider Auckland region.

Building work comes with plenty of decisions. We help you work through them, starting with what you want to achieve, what your property needs and how the job will come together. We listen, talk through the practical details and prepare a clear scope of work. Once construction starts, we coordinate the trades and keep you in the loop. You shouldn’t have to put on a hard hat just to find out what’s happening.

A Local Team You Can Talk To

Established in 2024, Mersey Construction brings together licensed builders and a network of trusted contractors. Thomas is directly involved in assessing, quoting and coordinating projects, so you’ve got a clear point of contact when questions come up.

We’re straightforward in how we work: honest conversations, careful workmanship and a commitment to seeing the job through. We can manage the full construction process or provide building and scheduling support if you’re running the project yourself. From structural work to the finishing touches, we focus on making your home work better for the people living in it.

Renovations That Make Everyday Life Easier

Sometimes you need more room. Sometimes you just need the room you’ve got to work properly. Our residential building services cover single-room upgrades, larger renovations, home extensions and new builds. We’ll help you work through the options and plan the building work around what you need.

Our bathroom renovations range from refreshing a tired ensuite to reworking the family bathroom. We coordinate the building, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing and electrical work, so you’ve got one team bringing it all together.

With kitchen renovations, we look at how you use the space as well as how you want it to look. That might mean new cabinetry and benchtops or a layout that lets you open the dishwasher without trapping someone in a corner. We organise the trades and installation work, keeping the everyday details in mind.

Decks, Sheds and Space to Spread Out

A well-planned outdoor area gives you more ways to enjoy your home. We build decks and outdoor living areas, from small courtyard decks to larger spaces for getting everyone around for a barbecue. We consider access, materials, drainage and how the new area connects with your home.

We also build custom sheds and garages for storage, workshops and hobbies that have quietly taken over the spare room. We plan the size, openings, lighting and layout around what you’ll use the space for.

If you’ve got a building project in mind, we’re happy to talk it through. We offer free, no-obligation quotes, with trade coordination and regular updates throughout the job. Call 027 858 0620 or email admin@merseyconstruction.co.nz to get started.
