About Greenlane
Greenlane is one of central Auckland’s established residential suburbs — tree-lined streets of weatherboard villas, brick-and-tile bungalows and increasing infill housing, with the major Greenlane Road commercial spine running east-west through the area. The suburb is functionally defined by its proximity to two major institutions — Cornwall Park to the west and Greenlane Hospital to the centre — which together shape much of daily Greenlane life.
Cornwall Park on the Western Edge
Cornwall Park and Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill Domain border Greenlane on its western side — 220+ hectares of pastoral parkland, mature oak and olive plantings, the historic Acacia Cottage (Auckland’s oldest surviving European-era building), and the volcanic cone of Maungakiekie with the obelisk monument and 360° city views. The wider Greenlane Road commercial precinct includes the Highbrook industrial estate, multiple commercial offices, and the Greenlane train station providing rapid rail to Britomart in around 18 minutes.
