Clendon Skatepark Auckland: Renewed Street Park in Clendon Park

Last updated October 2026

A renewal finished in late 2019 gave Clendon Skatepark a fresh surface and a small extension. The park is in South Auckland, on the reserve that is home to Te Matariki Clendon Community Centre and Library, with access from Palmers Road in Clendon Park. It’s a concrete street park with a spine, flat bars, hubba ledges, manual pads, banks and a mini ramp.

The 2019 work added a quarter pipe with a platform, stairs, a handrail and a long rail. A playground and basketball court share the same grounds.

About Clendon Skatepark

Clendon’s skatepark was already in place before its makeover. RICH Landscapes, which published the project, describes the job as resurfacing the existing facility, with a small extension in the south-western corner and changes made inside the original footprint. The work was completed on 30 November 2019.

The renewal added plenty. A new quarter pipe with a platform went in, along with more flat slab, a pyramid with a hubba ledge, a standard channel ledge, a set of stairs with a handrail and a long rail.

Auckland for Kids sums up the layout as a concrete skatepark with a spine, flat bars, hubbas, a pole jam, manual pads, a kicker, gaps, ledges, banks and a mini ramp. In other words, it’s a street-leaning park with enough variety to keep a session moving.

Skate Finder says the park suits skaters of all levels and has plenty of open space for practising tricks. Its listing describes the park as open during daylight hours, and there is no mention of lights.

Lines for Every Level

Starting out

The banks, manual pads and larger flat areas give newer riders room to work on pushing, turning and basic manuals before stepping up.

Getting confident

The mini ramp, spine and flat rails are the natural next steps, and the kicker and ledges open up early street tricks.

Experienced riders

Stairs, the handrail, the hubba off the pyramid and the long rail are where the more technical lines are.

Around the Reserve

Auckland Council’s page lists open grass, a playground, a basketball court, seating and a drinking fountain on the reserve, with the community centre and library alongside. Dogs need to be on a leash and the park is smokefree. Helmets and pads are worth bringing, and check the council page for any notices before you go.
