Dog Parks and Dog Walks in Auckland
Dog exercise areas, off-leash walks and dog-friendly beaches around Auckland, with the council's rules for each.
In Auckland, dogs must be on a leash in council parks, beaches and public places unless the place is listed as off leash, and more than 2,500 parks and beaches are. Many beaches, including Takapuna, Mission Bay and Ōrewa, have no dogs from 10am to 5pm between 1 December and 1 March, and regional parks such as Tāwharanui, Duder and Pākiri are dog-free. Every place below shows its rule and how to get there.
