Auckland New Zealand Temple
The Auckland New Zealand Temple was dedicated on 13 April 2025 — Palm Sunday — by Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. It is the second temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand; the country’s first, in Hamilton, had closed for a four-year renovation the same year the Auckland temple was announced.
Before its dedication, a public open house ran from 27 February to 22 March 2025, drawing approximately 80,000 visitors who were invited to tour the interior before it was formally dedicated. The temple measures around 4,200 square metres and includes four instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry.
Following dedication, the temple is open only to members of the church in good standing — it is not accessible to the general public. However, the temple building and its grounds at 19 Redoubt Road are visible from the surrounding streets and have become a notable landmark in South Auckland.
